Formed by Nigel Gavin, Gitbox toured regionally and nationally releasing 2 albums ’Pesky Digits’ and ‘Touchwood’ through the prestigious Art Music Label Rattle Records. In 2017 Nigel Reformed the group. The new line up features original members Nigel Gavin, Kim Halliday, Russell Hughes and Bodi Hermans and they are joined by Peter Kirkbride, Tomislav Skulic, Sam Loveridge. Sonia Wilson, Rob Mita and Joanne Melbourne.
Gitbox Mark 2 has performed at the Maritime Museum, The Bunker, Titirangi Festival, Waiheke Jazz Festival, 121 Café, Mt Eden Village Centre. Currently the group rehearsals are twice weekly and new material is being written and rehearsed in preparation for touring nationally and internationally.
