Gallery 6 Pop Up
UPDATE: We are no longer just a pop up for three months but will continue through the winter with opening limited to weekends. From today to April 19th open Thursday to Tuesday 10 to 4, (closed Wednesday). Thereafter (after Easter) Saturday to Monday 10 to 2. By appointment any other day We are enjoying being seen and using the gallery. Occasionally we work as a group at the gallery, happy for visitors to see what we are doing. This will happen over Easter too as part of the impromptu Arts Tour initiative to have studios open. Six artists are setting up a pop-up gallery for three months starting mid-December 2021 in a vacant shop in Coromandel town. The principal artists, Diann Cade, Deborah Hide Bayne, Jan Linklater, Vaughan Udall, Donna Scatchard and Fran Campbell are all painters and create different styles of work ranging from Impressionist, Contemporary to Surrealist. Ceramics and craft by other local makers will also be on display, plus cards, prints and books. Deborah, one of the graduates from Creative Coromandel's pARTner Up mentoring program, says, “2021 has been a strange year but I’ve been busy in my studio for most of it. I jumped at the chance to be part of this group. What a great opportunity to get my work out there and on display! I look forward to chatting to all the locals and summer visitors about this talented group of artists, which I’m super proud to be part of.” Diann says, “It’s exciting seeing the idea happening and being! The gallery space has large wall areas and an open feel so the works should look really good. I’m going to enjoy the time sharing our displayed works.” The gallery will be open from 10.00am - 4.00pm Tuesday to Sunday starting on Tues 14 Dec 2021, and you can contact the group on 027 777 1572 (Ed Buckett).
