Spring is the season for creativity on the Coromandel! The coromandel artbeat spring festival is a three-month celebration of the incredible creative energy, artists and communities across the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki rohe, running each year from September to December.
| Rather than being one single event, the artbeat is an umbrella festival that brings together the many creative events already happening around our region. From exhibitions and open studios to live music, theatre, workshops, makers’ markets and community events, there is something for everyone to discover.The artbeat was started by Creative Coromandel in 2023 with a simple idea: create, connect and celebrate through the arts. The festival was developed to help strengthen connections between our communities and showcase the incredible creative talent that exists throughout the rohe.For locals and visitors, the artbeat is an invitation to slow down, explore the Peninsula and make your own creative adventure. Pick an exhibition in Thames, discover an artist in their studio, head along to a gig in Whitianga, try a workshop in Coromandel Town, or plan a whole weekend around the festival programme.And the best part?
