From Clay: Stewart Pedley feat. Heather Bolton

Embassy of Friendship, Whitianga & The Back Room, Thames

Friday 2 July, 6pm & Saturday 3rd July, 7pm

From Clay: Stewart Pedley (featuring special guest Heather Bolton)

Stewart Pedley’s music is colourful and vibrant. The melodies are clear and the images vivid.

The songs in this performance, From Clay, are inhabited by curious characters and defining moments: yearning and ambition challenge and question struggle and hope. The songs feel as if they have come from the rich earth of experience and have been worked into palpable pieces that can be seen and felt. Inside each one is hook and heart.

Stewart lives on the Coromandel and writes and plays in the bands Let’s Go Descarrego! and Corrosive Moses. In 2014 he won the Original Song Competition in Thames. He is joined by special guest Heather Bolton (Acetones/Vox Venus) on piano and vocals.

The performance will be enhanced by footage of well-known local potter Alan Rhodes at work in his studio, making From Clay a unique, intimate show not to be missed.
