Whangamata Arts Collective: Harcourts Youth Art Award 2021

In conjunction with the Big Arts Day Out 2021 and Harcourts Open Challenge, the Harcourts Youth Art Award entries are now open! 

 

This competition is open to students from year 9 to year 13 who attend either Thames High School, Waihi College, Mercury Bay, Coromandel or Whangamata Area Schools OR who are home schooled within the region. Students have been 18 years of age or under at the end of 2020.

                      

THEME: In My Bubble

MEDIA: paint, print, photography, mixed media or sculpture

SIZE: Sculpture – max 1 metre high x 50cm width/depthAll other work no larger than A2

 

There is no entry fee. All prize money is proudly donated by Harcourts Whangamata: 

 

PRIZES:

 

1st PRIZE – Harcourts Trophy and $250

2nd PRIZE – $150

3rd  PRIZE –  $75

Commended – $25

Artworks to be couriered/delivered by Tuesday Feb 2nd to:

Please send sufficient return postage or courier tickets with your 

entry (these will be sent back if not needed.)

   

If you intend to enter independently of a school please inform Linda by 22nd Jan 2021

Work may be sold at the artists’s discretion. If so please include price.

Work must be presented or mounted and strung ready to hang, to a standard suitable for public exhibition. On the back of the work please put artist’s name, title, media & phone details so that we can notify you if you receive a placing.     

A maximum of 2 entries per person. No multiples unless part of a triptych.
