Business Details
Maureen Allison is a potter/ceramic artist who lives just south of Whangamata. Maureen creates unique, award winning artwork, using clay dug from her property. The finished pieces are fired for long periods in her wood fired Anagama kiln on site.
Maureen won the premiere award in Waiclay National Ceramics Award for 2017. Her piece was entitled "Aftermath", and the process was described as "woodfired wild found clay". Judge, Rowley Drysdale, commented on the pure honesty of the use of clay.
