Colin Verner

I construct and carve wall mounted relief sculptures from recycled wood and other materials at my studio in Kūaotunu.

I have a strong interest in creative activity arising through unconscious and automatic processes. I use dreams, images that come to me through meditation, and automatic drawing to generate ideas, which become a starting point for my artworks.

I studied art at Whitecliffe College in Auckland, at Montclair State University in the USA, and I’ve exhibited regularly both in New Zealand and abroad.
