Two Railwaymen

Two Railwaymen is a show including work from Barry Brickell (RIP) and Kelvin Hynes. The pictures are beautifully hung and lighted. It is so lovely to be in that gallery - it hasn't really been used since Barry died, and it is wonderful to have his work hanging on the walls again. In the description labels, Rod MacLeod, the curator, has used Barry's own words to describe the works... a real treat. Kelvin Hynes wearing his special Ka911 jersey spent his working life with trains and a camera. His photographs take you back in time - into the history of rail in Aotearoa it is mesmerising - back into a time that was so different in so many ways. The section of photographs on the laying of the Thames track is of great interest to many. There are even some magnets available for purchase to support the show.
