Thames Music Group Free Friday Lunchtime Concert

Friday Lunchtime Concert Features University of Waikato Vocal Students Thames Music Group’s May Free Friday Lunchtime Concert will feature vocal students from the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music with pianist Frances Cowan. The programme being presented by Gina Sanders on Friday 23 May is entitled “If Only… a programme of songs and arias exploring life’s hopes, dreams, desires and plans” includes solos and ensembles by Schubert, Quilter, Wolf, Mahler, Mozart, Strauss, Bernstein and more. For many years Thames Music Group has provided this annual opportunity to experience performances by some of NZ’s most remarkable emerging young professionals from the popular Postgraduate and Undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Waikato, including national and regional scholarship and award winning singers. This year’s concert features vocalists Emma Jones, Alexandra Buchanan, Emily Scott, Elizabeth Ellison, Lara Vautier, Wei Lyu, and Taliai Fafita, with lead répétiteur and collaborative pianist, Francis Cowan. Come and enjoy beautiful music and help support the next generation of Aotearoa’s vocal talent.
