School Holiday Art Program at The Creativity Room

Art is such a powerful tool for our tamariki. It nurtures confidence, encourages expression, and helps them see the world through curious, colourful eyes. These school holiday workshops are all about joy, exploration, and connection. Here’s what’s coming up: Tuesday 23rd – Gelli Printing (Spring Blossom) We’ll use gelli plates to create layered prints inspired by kōwhai, cherry blossoms and whatever else we can find in flower!—perfect for welcoming spring. Wednesday 24th – Watercolour (Day at the Beach) A calming session where kids will paint beach scenes using gentle watercolour techniques. Think waves, sunshine, and sandy toes. Monday 29th – Recycled Sculpture (Mini Creatures) Using recycled materials, tamariki will build imaginative mini creatures—learning to turn everyday items into taonga. Tuesday 30th Sept – Air Dry Clay (Mosaic) Kids will shape and decorate clay tiles to create their own mosaics. It’s hands-on, soothing, and full of creative freedom. Wednesday 1st October – Paper Craft (Flextangle) We’ll fold and decorate flextangles—interactive paper sculptures that twist and turn. A fun blend of geometry and art!
