Passione Quartet

May 10
Sadly, our Thames Music Group April Sunday concert, featuring Irish harpist Anne-Marie O’Farrell, was cancelled due to the forecasted nasty weather, but we are looking forward to our 10 May concert, Mother’s Day, with the Passione Quartet in the beautiful St George’s church in Thames.
Hailing from Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, Passione Quartet is a group who were brought together by their sheer love of music and a like-minded aim to enjoy and share the immense power and beauty of classical music. The group formed at the beginning of 2024 and has enjoyed playing at numerous public and private events around Tāmaki Makaurau, establishing themselves as a professional quartet with a high level of dedication to their craft. Their passionate musicality and fine ensemble skills has also opened up opportunities for them to receive coaching from the New Zealand String Quartet in Nelson (2025 and 2026) as well as from the Australian String Quartet in Adelaide. Such expert input, alongside countless hours together in and outside of rehearsals—a uniquely holistic approach to understanding chamber music and developing classy ensemble dynamics—can be heard in their rich, colourful and tightly unified group sound.
