This New Years eve the Governor of Groove will be bringing a scorching set of 70s/80s fusion with full disco-soul energy to welcome in 2026! There will be drinks specials all night long, a bubbly toast on us at midnight and the most fun vibes around!! Dj Tido has been spinning music at the turntables since the mid 90s. Starting out in the Garden City running club nights and hosting the Supafly Radio Show on RDU for over a decade. Tido’s style focuses on all things funky, drawing influence from: Jazz, Soul, Disco, Latin, Afrobeat & House. Tido has DJ'd around New Zealand and Australia as well as performances in the USA, Canada, UK and Africa. He has performed alongside some great artists such as: Mr Scruff, Lee Perry, The Mad Professor, Jazzanova, Fat Freddy's Drop, Kora and Opensouls, to name a few.

For the last decade Tido has been in Auckland sharing his music on radio, at bars and clubs, hosting the Funk Wonders residency at Golden Dawn as well as festival appearances at Splore and Shipwrecked. And now DJ Tido can't wait to see in the new year in with coolest cats at the coolest venue in the Coromandel.
