Illumini - Artist Showcase. Vessel Gallery is excited to announce an upcoming 'Artist Showcase,' featuring the distinctive works of three of our dedicated members: Mandy Seth, Kathryn Engebretsen, and Kanani Cowell. Each artist will present a collection that reflects their unique creative vision, transforming one wall of the gallery into a personal artistic statement. Mandy Seth -Renowned for her fine jewellery work, Mandy brings her precision and eye for detail to the world of fabric. Her intricate designs and delicate handiwork transform upcycled textiles with hand stitching into stunning art, featuring scenes from the Coromandel. By combining the elegance of flora inspired jewellery, including recycled metals and raw gems in their natural state, Mandy creates pieces that are both sophisticated and innovative, blending artistry with sustainability. Kathryn Engebretsen - Kathryns art is both symbolic and quirky, often featuring a girl on her own or with birds her work is about contemplation, introspection and solitude. Birds are considered the messengers and companions and are a favourite. All images are from photos taken and collected for that purpose. The reclaimed wood is art on its own and offers the character and backdrop for the story the images make. The final result is both simple and complex. Kanani Cowell - Kanani Cowell introduces her new original work consisting of drawings about balance, intellect, and intention and is a consideration of our place in the world. As well as new work from her acclaimed series, "Gaia Speaks." These are available as prints and explore the profound connection between humanity and the natural world, offering a thoughtful commentary on environmental themes. Her work invites viewers to engage with the earth’s voice through powerful and evocative imagery.
