Coromandel Art Group is based in Coromandel town, with members from all over the northern peninsula.
They have been going for 15 years and are the longest established local art group.
Numbers are limited to 20 members, due to the constraints of our venue, which is St Andrews Hall in Coromandel town.
Weekly meetings are on Thursdays from 9am to 12 noon. In summer, they go further afield to sketch and paint some of our beautiful scenery.
Led by Val Gray, the in-house tutor known for her beautiful silk paintings and watercolours, as well as her oils and acrylics.
About three times a year they bring in outside tutors to run full day workshops, to inspire and teach new techniques.
Each year they hold an annual exhibition in summer, at the Hauraki House Gallery. As well as submitting individual paintings, there is a tradition of doing a joint painting for sale.
New members are always welcome if there is space.
