St George's Community Choir presents 'Requiem: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart'

St Georges Church, Mackay Street, Thames

Sat 17 Oct, 7pm & Sun 18 Oct, 2pm

Originally scheduled to take place in June, Covid19 restrictions interrupted rehearsals. However, once  Level 2 was attained the choir was able to begin practicing again.  For some of our soloists this will be their first performance since Covid Level 4.

The musical director and conductor is Jonothan Dunlop.  After completing a Master's Degree in Piano Performance  Jono is currently in his second year as a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Waikato.  Jono has involved his family in this production and we are fortunate to have Wendy and Martin (Mum and Dad), brother Michael, and fiance Louisa all singing in the choir.

The choir will be accompanied by Michael Bell on the organ. Michael is presently resident organist, composer and music teacher at King's School in Remuera. He makes an organ 'sound like an orchestra.'

Soloists are: Gina Sanders, Elisha Hulton, James Harrison and Iain Tetley.  All have had extensive singing careers in NZ and overseas.
